The Historic Ute Theater Is Alive With Entertainment
It’s a happy Saturday in Saguache Today! Looks like a bit of sunshine returns just in time for the weeknd. Here’s some information about what’s happening at the historic Ute Theater located i ndowtown Saguache, from the latest movies to rehearsals for a classic play – the stage is alive with entertainment!
From director Joe Wright (“Atonement,” “Pride & Prejudice”) comes “Pan,” a live-action feature presenting a wholly original adventure about the beginnings of the beloved characters created by J.M. Barrie.
Here’s the plot: Living a bleak existence at a London orphanage, 12-year-old Peter (Levi Miller) finds himself whisked away to the fantastical world of Neverland. Adventure awaits as he meets new friend James Hook (Garrett Hedlund) and the warrior Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara). They must band together to save Neverland from the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman). Along the way, the rebellious and mischievous boy discovers his true destiny, becoming the hero forever known as Peter Pan.

Classic Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” in Rehearsals
While most folks are get their Thanksgiving plans all lined up, there is a group of local characters who are already preparing for Christmas. But for good reason!
Rehearsals are underway for the annual Ute Theater presentation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Of course, many are familiar with this story of a bitter old miser named Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation into a gentler, kindlier man after visitations by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come.
The group is still in need of some additional people to be part of the Stage Crew for the first week of December. Rehearsals for this holiday classic are on Tuesdays And Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at the Ute Theater in downtown Saguache.
