Remembering Veterans, Honoring Lost Lives

In honor of Veterans Day and all the men and women who have served our country, Saguache Today shares a video from the 9/11 Memorial Service held in downtown Saguache on September 11, 2015. The program begins with emergency responders circling the town with lights and sirens in honor of all who lost their lives in the September 11th attacks on the United States.

Eventually the emergency vehicles, staff and members of the Saguache community  converge at the Dave Martinez Park in downtown for a patriotic service of music and readings. This annual event is coordinated and sponsored in part by Christine Gydesen, the owner of the historic Ute Theater. After the ceremony the group gathered inside the historic theater to watch a film about the events that occurred on 9/11. Food and refreshments were also served as people shared their memoires of that tragic day in American history, so that people may Never Forget!
