Birds of a Feather – Or – Something Different
As folks flock to the San Luis Valley to witness the beauty of 20,000 Sandhill Cranes descending on the area as part of their annual migration, with it comes a variety of events as businesses and organizations take advantage of the crowds.
So Saguache Today is going to share the more off-the-beaten path happenings for a good cause this weekend. So if you’re headed out to see the birds, keep these in mind!
The Hut Flea Market & Auction in Monte Vista will be having some great events this weekend. Today, Friday March 11 there’s an indoor Flea Market with lots of good finds. The Hut is located at 1121 Hwy 285 North, across from NAPA Auto in Monte Vista from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Spuds for Youth
What better place to be eating a delicious spud for a good cause than the San Luis Valley. It’s famous for delicious potatoes! So if you’re a spud-lover, hen head on over to The Calvary Baptist Church’s Youth baked potato fundraiser in Monte Vista.
A baked potato dinner will be held on Saturday, March 12 (delivery and to-go only), 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 13 (dine in, delivery or to-go) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 2160 Sherman Ave. Tickets are $5 for ages five and up.
