Supplemental Food Distributed in Center, Saguache
The Supplemental Commodity Distribution will be held today, November 17 in Center from 10:30 a.m. to Noon at the Kiwanis Building at 5th & Broadway. Then later in Saguache Today from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Community Building, 505 3rd Street. Everyone is welcome for the supplemental distribution! No certification is needed for this program.
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of low-income elderly persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods. Women, infants, and children who were certified and receiving CSFP benefits as of February 6, 2014 can continue to receive assistance until they are no longer eligible under the program rules in effect on February 6, 2014. Through CSFP, USDA distributes both food and administrative funds to participating States and Indian Tribal Organizations.
For those who can’t make it today, there will also be an opportunity for suuplemental food tomorrow (Nov. 18). Saguache The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) Commodity will be tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at the Saguache Commodity Building, 505 3rd Street from 10 a.m. – 12noon.
If available, bring proof of income, residency, and photo id. If you are having someone pick up for you, don’t forget to send in your proxy form. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a Federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food and nutrition assistance at no cost. It provides food and administrative funds to States to supplement the diets of these groups.
