Celebrate Sweetness at the Saguache Chocolate Festival
All right, listen up all you chocoholics! It’s the beginning of the glorious sweet season. While the weeks between Halloween and Christmas are considered the thick of the season, why not get a jump start at this Saturday’s 7th Annual Saguache County Chocolate Festival?
Think of it as a chocolate fantasy land as friends and neighbors come together October 7 from 3 – 6 p.m. to celebrate the lovely sweet treat with concoctions of all shapes and sizes.
This year, the event will take place in downtown Saguache as business along 4th Street create their own chocolate creations for a tasty throw-down that will be awarded with ribbons from the judges. Bring Grandma’s favorite recipe to share – anything with chocolate in it will do!
Event Organizer Ellen Cox reports there will also be a chocolate pie-eating contest, live music, face painting and the ever-popular pie toss! “We would encourage you to also host a fun game such as musical chairs,a cake walk or ring toss,” states Cox. Everyone is welcome for some cocoa-liscious fun!
