Forest Service Presents Feedback from Users

GMUG_photoOver  this past summer, the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre & Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests co-hosted eight public open houses with each of the primary counties, including Saguache, with GMUG lands. Approximately 350 people attended the open houses and the two webinars to share early ideas, and GMUG received over one hundred written comments about what’s going well, and what’s not, in that vast Forest area.

Comments received by August 31 were summarized and incorporated, where applicable, into the draft assessments, while later comments are still welcomed by the team and may be included in later versions. Although they covered a broad range of subjects, most comments emphasized the common ground shared by all users: the importance of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre & Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests UG to the people and communities that rely upon it.

The following are the official documents surmising the data and formation gathered from the public, thus far. If you have additional comments, email  gmugforestplan@fs.fed.us.GMUG_1GMUG_2GMUG_3
