Halloween Fun Awaits in Saguache Today

What a great way to kick off the holiday party season! The Kids Halloween Costume Party is being held in Saguache Today, Saturday, Oct. 27. Gather up those kiddos in costumes and head over to the Saguache Public Library from 4:30 – 6 p.m. This is a family-friendly event and snacks and prizes will be provided.

Then don’t forget next Wednesday, Oct. 31 there will be Halloween Festivities sponsored by the Saguache Volunteer Fire Department and Mountain Valley Athletics and Activity Booster Club. The fun begins at 4:30 on Halloween with a Hayrack Ride, with the doors to the firehouse opening at 5 p.m. for a chili dinner and the popular Trunk of Treat out front. The Costume Contest will be at 6:30 p.m. and determined by age. The fire house will also have Chimfex sticks for sale for $12.

If you haven’t quite put your costume together yet, then head to downtown Saguache to the Blue Earth Mercantile and Thrift Store. It’s the perfect place to find all the things you need to get decked to for some spooky fun.

Spooky Halloween Times Await in Saguache Today

What a great way to kick off the holiday party season! Tonight  October 28 from 5 – 7 p.m. the Saguache County Public Library will celebrate the season with a Halloween Party for the kids.

Families can feast on goodies made by the Friends of the Library afterwards listen to spooky stories from the stacks! Kids will also be able to make Halloween bracelet and mask to take home. At the end the evening the library staff will be awarding prizes for the best costumes in their mini-parade. And the best treat of all will be a book of choice for each child to keep!

On Monday, Oct. 31 the Mountain Valley School Booster Club wil hosts an evening of Halloween Fun in the Saguache Fire Department parking lot. The Hayrack Ride will kick things off from 5 – 6 p.m. The cost is $2 per child.saguache-halloween

Afterward kids can attend the family-friendly Annual Trunk or Treat activity where costumed kiddos can go from car trunk to trunk trick-or-treating for all the goodies their sacks can hold!.

Organizers also have some room for those trunkers wanting to still participate. Or if you want the Hayrack Ride to stop at your house for trick-or-treaters, contact Amber at 719-221-9942 or Crystal at 515-783-5175.

The Oasis Restaurant on Highway 285 does photos and treats for all those costumed kiddos on Monday October 31 – stop by for yours!

Also be sure to catch the Haunted Castle over at the home of Doug and Tawnya Vonallmen It gets better and spookier every year!
