Easter Celebrated in Saguache Today


St. Agnes Catholic Mission Church in Saguache.

St. Agnes Catholic Mission Church in Saguache will be celebrating Easter Mass at 8 a.m. today, April 1. Everyone is welcome at the service.

St. Agnes Church is located right off Highway 285, across from The Saguache Market. The historic church is part of the San Juan Catholic Community, with Rev. Derreck Scott serving as Pastor and Administrator. Easter Egg Hunt in Saguache Today

Today there will be an Easter Egg Hunt in Saguache Today, April 1 at Otto Mears Park. Children of all ages are invited to join the fun starting at 11 a.m. There will be an egg hunt, drawing for prizes, balloon toss, and giveaways.

Easter Egg Hunt Planned for Sunday in Saguache

Here comes Peter Cottontail Hopping Down the Bunny Trail! It’s time to gather all the Easter bunny helpers for the 4th Annual Saguache Community Easter Egg Hunt. Egg Basket

Community organizers  Cindy Archuleta, Laurie Vigil, Carla Quintana, Linda Abeyta, Jan Lovato and many other volunteers received a small grant from the town, but everything else is donated.

“We will give away 6 bicycles, boys and girls for each age group,” stated egg hunt organizer Cindy Archuleta. “We’re hoping to give away an older kids bike this year.”

The annual event takes place in Otto Mears Park Park on Easter Sunday at 11 a.m. It begins with an opening prayer by Eddie Garcia and then fun for all kids.

 Children can get their chance to win a bicycle by entering a drawing. They will also have a water balloon toss right after the egg hunt. Everything is donated: eggs, baskets, prizes of all sorts and money. If you would like to contribute to the Easter Egg Hunt, please contact Cindy Archuleta.

Otto Mears Park is located in Saguache, between Christy and Pitkin on Highway 285.
